Well, I am not very knowledgeable on this topic, but I think a solution within OpenRemote is not trivial. As far as I can see Home Easy is a rather closed world. It does not seem to use one of the more open communication protocols. Openremote supported protocols can be found here: http://www.openremote.org/display/docs/Supported+Protocols+in+OpenRemote+2.0+Controller.
Home Easy does seem to have a SMS textservice interface that could be used to control your devices remotely. You could look into that.

The Openremote solution is working with 3 mains components:
designer: to design your UI, your control panels and create the commands that the Controller will execute
panels app: the is the frontend depending on the device you're using, in your case there is a panel for iPAD
Controller: this is the controller that do the link between any of your panels to any of the controlled devices
Unfortunatly, there is no direct link between any panels and controlled devices. the panels have to commnunicate with the controller and the controller will manage the communication to your controlled devices.
That means that the controller has to be on to control your devices. But it's not mantatory to have a PC powered on to run the controller.
You can have it running on any kind of server, NAS, plug computer, ... that support a java server like Tomcat, or any other.
