Help with WebConsole - "controller isn't available" message

Total newbie here, so please forgive me if this is a dumb question. I searched but did not find this in the archives.

I just completed my first OpenRemote install for proof of concept. For now just the controller, webconsole, and a very basic UI. While everything seems to work (lights are turned on/off), 5 seconds or so after every a command is sent (button is clicked) I get the message "Current Controller is'nt available".

When I enable trace logging for webconsole, it looks as if webconsole is closing the connection, then trying to read from it.... Is this a bug? or any idea how to troubleshoot this? I'm at a loss. Other than this, OpenRemote seems like a great product, I would like to use it.

Could be a bug. I'm trying to find some time to put a newer version of web console available online. Let's see if that will get rid of your issue.

        Juha,

Thanks for the update... Any idea when the new release is coming? Is there a pre-beta version you can point me to? At this point I'm just feeling it out so no pressure to be perfect, but this particular bug has me dead in the water.

See the attachment for the snapshot of Richard Turner's version 2.0 (Alpha) of Web Console from Dec 28th.

You will need to get the Controller snapshot that Marcus created recently which is here: http://www.redeker-consulting.de/openremote/OpenRemote-Controller-2.0.0_SNAPSHOT_20120103.zip

The 2.0 alpha of WebConsole won't work with older versions of the controller.

Drop the webconsole2.war file in the controller's webapps directory. The webconsole should show up at http://localhost:8080/webconsole2

The initial config screen is still work-in-progress but enter the controller URL (http://localhost:8080) and your panel's name (which you entered in the designer). You'll have to sync your controller with the designer first to make the panel available, which you can do at http://localhost:8080/controller

(Instructions written off the top of my head, may contain mistakes).
